Brief History of Faculty
13/04/2018

The Faculty of Chemical Engineering (FCE) was established in 1999 on the basis of the Department of Chemistry – the College of Industrial Engineering IV. FCE consists of five departments: Department of General Chemistry, Department of Machine and Equipment, Department of Analytical Chemistry, Department of Petrochemical Technology and Department of Chemical Technology and Materials. There are 77 staffs in FCE (73 teaching staffs and 4 support staffs). The qualified staffs include 24 Ph.Ds (3 of them are associate professors), 44 masters and 5 holders of other degrees. The FCE realizes that improving the quality of education is an important task and thus, in addition to theoretical teaching methods, lecturers are encouraged to apply many active teaching approaches such as learner-centered instruction, problem-based learning and engineering design education. In order to improve the academic performance of students, the FCE arranges each class with an academic supervisor (homeroom teacher), and in the final year of the undergraduate, each student carries out a graduation project under the guidance of a thesis supervisor. Moreover, scientific research activities and international cooperation are emphasized.

The mission and vision of FCE are as follows:

Vision: To become one of the leading research and education centers in the field of Applied Chemical Engineering in Vietnam.

Mission: To provide human resources with high professional qualifications and skills in order to carry out operational requirements, management of production processes, scientific research and technology transfer in the field of Chemical Engineering.
